Implementation strategy of primary health care in Ovia communities

Primary health care is the essential service provided at grassroot level. Over years implementation of Health Care (PHC) programmes in Edo state are bedeviled with associated challenges such as limited community participation, great communication gap that limit evaluation processes PHC programme and slow pace collaboration among stakeholders. These need to be averted through effective people oriented strategies ensure primary care. A descriptive research design a population study comprised 1,024 stakeholders state. Multi-stage sampling technique was used select 180 respondents for study. The found intersectoral involving partnerships agencies village committees ward significantly influenced PHC. Intersectoral collaboration, mobilization strategy feedback mechanism efficient improved programmes. recommended others National Development Agency (NPHCDA) State (SPHCDA) should strengthen partnership international organizations WHO, UNICEF, GAVI, UNDP boost confidence trust these organizations.
